One of the largest independently-owned wholesale manufacturer of optical lenses in the US. FEA has some seriously good products, i.e. Eagle, Eaglet, Constitution...all are excellent progressive lenses, available in all materials. Plus, they do excellent digital surfacing of Younger and Essilor products (improving them over the original versions), and their "Nuance RT" photochromic technology (available for all the aforementioned lenses) is genuinely better than Transitions (being faster at changing from the darkened state to clear. Seriously faster. And at a better price!) When things go well, FEA is great. But, as with every optical lab, things don't always go well, that's just the way it is! FEA HAD an excellent and simple redo policy that made life easy for everyone, when there was a problem (ANSI error on FEA's part, optician's changes, etc.) but recently they jettisoned that policy and (returned) to the policy requiring paying in full for every redo (even for FEA errors) and obtaining an RMA (and making sure the credit truly goes through) for each lens return. Ugh. This deducts a star from FEA's rating. (This policy should really account for deducting more than one star, but I do like FEA and don't want this review to trash 'em.) I would like to implore FEA to return to the simple, no-hassle return policy. By the way, twenty years ago I suggested to the company that "FEA" should stand for "Fast, Efficient, Accurate" (it used to stand for something else that had no bearing to the customer relationship) and the owner (evidently when he felt they'd improved things enough) finally began using "Fast, Efficient, Accurate" as the public face of the company. So I'm gratified I helped name FEA Industries! FEA Industries, Inc. | Focused on Technology |
